Paddle Out, Paddle Back- General Info

If you don’t feel like committing to the full 6 mile journey of Trip One, we can still accommodate you and your group easily. We offer paddle-out-paddle back rentals at a discounted rate, designed to still provide you the great service the Canoe Outpost is known for without restricting your options for exploring the river.

Start here at the Outpost any time, 9a-3p, 7 days a week, and explore upstream, downstream, wherever you would like to check out, for as little or as much time as you’d like, from 10 minutes up to 4 hours, all at the same rate. Generally we recommend exploring upstream first, to get the harder paddling out of the way, and then turning around and cruising back downstream with the current to the dock, where you can tie up your boat with our provided bungees and end your trip.

Unlike rental operations at nearby state and county parks, our rentals are full-service and include handling all the equipment, set-up, launching, landing, and cleaning of all the equipment and boats at the end of your trip.

If your trip downstream is going well and you want to continue on to our pickup point, please make sure to call us to notify our staff! We can add that service on to your rental when you return to the Outpost for an added fee.

Paddle Out and Back Pricing

We charge for our trips based on the type of boat, not the number of people in that boat. All prices include all needed gear like life jackets, paddles and boat cushions, as well as parking and your state park entry fees, 7 days a week. Please note that prices listed do not include sales tax.

  • Canoes hold more people and gear than any other boat in our rental fleet, making them a great choice for larger groups with coolers to carry. 2 adults and 2 kids, or 3 adults per boat.

  • Double Kayaks are smaller and more maneuverable than our canoes, but hold less gear. Double sit ins can hold up to 2 adults and 1 small kid (under the age of 5), and 1 small bag or cooler. Double sit on tops hold 2 adults and 1 small bag or cooler.

  • Single kayaks are a great way to see the river! Agile, maneuverable, stable, and easy to pilot. Maximum of 1 person per boat, with 1 medium or 2 small bags or coolers.

  • If you have your own boat, we can let you use our ramp, washing stations, and parking lot for $5 per boat using our dock.

  • In addition to our rental boats, we also offer add-on items for your trip including:
    dry bag rentals for $2
seat back rentals for $3 (canoes only)
Damage insurance for $1 per boat

We also have a fully stocked store with hats, shirts, water shoes, snacks, drinks, ice cream, camping supplies, and all sorts of souvenirs to remember your trip.
